The Yealink W79P, a high-performance SIP cordless phone system, can register 10 Yealink ruggedized DECT W59R handsets and keep them stable in complicated and harsh locations. Featuring more functions, lines, and mobility, it supports up to 10 SIP accounts and 20 simultaneous calls, with integrated Bluetooth and vibration alarm to provide a stable and good experience for your mobile communications.

The Yealink W79P cordless phone system arrives as a complete starter kit, so nothing else is needed to make your first call. You get the W59R rugged handset with a belt clip, the W70B base station, a charging cradle, a rechargeable battery, a base stand, an Ethernet cable, a decorative cover, two power adapters and a quick start guide. The base connects to your network with the supplied cable and sits on a desk or mounts on a wall, measuring only 130mm by 100mm. Extra handsets are ordered separately as the team grows, and they register to the same base.

One W70B base supports up to 10 DECT cordless handsets and 20 calls running at the same time, with two calls per handset. You can register up to 10 SIP accounts, so a sales number, a service number and a main office number can ring on different handsets or share across the team. The shared phonebook holds up to 1000 contacts stored in the base, and each handset keeps its own call history of 100 entries. That capacity suits warehouses, hotels, care homes, garages and workshops where one base needs to cover the whole site.

Coverage reaches around 50 metres indoors and up to 300 metres outdoors in clear conditions. Real buildings reduce that, as thick walls, metal racking, cold rooms and machinery all absorb the signal, so treat the figures as a best case rather than a guarantee. Where more ground needs covering, the base accepts up to six RT30 repeaters, which extend the signal into yards, storage areas and upper floors without buying a second system. Pulse Telecom can advise on how many repeaters a site of your size is likely to need.

Yes. The W79P handset carries an IP67 rating, meaning it is sealed against dust and survives being dropped in water, so it holds up in warehouses, building sites, commercial kitchens, car parks and outdoor yards. The belt clip keeps it on the person rather than left on a bench. Safety features are built in as well, with a vibration alarm for noisy areas and four alert types. Those alerts matter for lone workers and for employers meeting health and safety obligations on site.

The 1460 mAh lithium-ion battery gives up to 28 hours of talk time and 360 hours on standby, which covers a full shift with room to spare. Using a Bluetooth headset draws more power, bringing that down to roughly 18 hours of talk time and 200 hours of standby. An acoustic warning sounds when the battery runs low, so nobody is caught out mid-call. ECO mode and ECO Mode+ reduce power use further, and the charging cradle sits on a desk or bench so handsets top up between shifts or at handover.

The W79P is a standard SIP cordless phone system, so it registers with most hosted PBX platforms and on-premise systems without extra software. Everyday business features are supported, including call hold, transfer, three-way conference, call waiting, call forwarding on busy or no answer, voicemail indication, intercom, paging and shared call appearance. Auto provisioning through PnP, TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS or RPS lets your provider configure the base remotely before delivery, and handsets update over the air with no downtime. Pulse Telecom pre-configures these for its own cloud platform and can check compatibility with a system you already run.

Both kits use the same W70B base station and support 10 handsets with 20 simultaneous calls, so the difference is the handset supplied. The W79P comes with the rugged W59R, rated IP67 against dust & water and fitted with safety alarms, which suits warehouses, outdoor work, workshops and sites where a phone gets knocked about. The W76P comes with the lighter W56H, a comfortable everyday handset for offices, shops, salons and reception areas. Choose based on the working environment rather than the base, and remember you can mix handset types on one base later.
